Remediation
We provide a full-service hazardous materials and remediation service for demolition, renovation and construction projects. We do a full site inspection to examine the potentially hazardous or contaminated materials, identify and classify them according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency guidelines (or prevailing guidlines the property is governed under),and then transport, recycle, treat, or safely dispose of them before cleaning the site.
Remediation: Restoring Balance
Remediation is the process of cleaning up contaminated sites to protect human health and the environment. It involves identifying, assessing, and treating contaminated soil, groundwater, and surface water. Our team specializes in developing and implementing effective remediation strategies tailored to the specific challenges of each site.
Innovative Remediation Techniques
We employ a range of cutting-edge techniques to address complex contamination issues. Our approach combines proven technologies with innovative solutions to achieve optimal results. From soil vapor extraction and bioremediation to in-situ chemical oxidation and solidification/stabilization, we select appropriate methods for each project. Our commitment to research and development ensures that we stay at the forefront of remediation technologies.
Case Study: Cape Fear River Marina
One of our most challenging and rewarding projects involved the remediation of a contaminated site along the Cape Fear River. The property was heavily polluted with heavy metals, hydrocarbons, and toxic ammonia plumes, posing a significant risk to the surrounding ecosystem.
We successfully obtained regulatory approval from the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDENR) to implement a sparging system, which effectively cleaned the ground, and groundwater over time.
This groundbreaking project not only restored the site but also created a world-class marina, demonstrating our ability to transform contaminated land into valuable assets. The finished product can be found on the marine construction page, and we invite you explore it.
Our Remediation Focus
We gladly accept the challenge of complex, remediation projects that require innovative solutions and a deep understanding of environmental science. Our ideal projects involve sites with significant contamination challenges, such as brownfields, industrial facilities, and former waste disposal areas. We are particularly interested in projects that have the potential to create lasting positive impacts on communities and the environment.
